Krrish grosses over hundred crores
The Hrithik Roshan – Priyanka Chopra starrer Krrish has become the first film in the history of the Indian film industry to have crossed the hundred-crore mark in the first two weeks of its release worldwide.
With this, Krrish has outdone the Aamir Khan – Kajol starrer Fanaa , which had gross collections of Rs 90 crore at the end of three weeks.
Rakesh Roshan ’s production house FilmKraft pegs the overseas collections from Krrish at Rs 20-25 crore.
Before Krrish emerged as the fastest money-spinner of recent times, Fanaa had registered record collections.
Krrish debuted at number nine in the UK top 10 in its first week and had the highest per screen collections of pound 4576 (approximately Rs 3.25 lakh), among films in the top 10.
While Fanaa on a smaller budget of approximately Rs 25 crore was released with 527 prints, Krrish with a budget of around Rs 45 crore, saw a bigger release, with a record number of over 800 prints.
