The world's leading web portal Yahoo is all set to launch a service that will help its users plan trips online, the way they do in real life: by finding out where other people went and what they did there.

Christened "Yahoo Trip planner", the service is designed as a one stop shop place for online travel shopping with social networking, photo sharing, search and interactive maps all rolled in. Users of this service will be able to plan trips using a Yahoo database of recommendations for lodging, restaurants, sights and other choices. During and after the trip, the users can post blog items, reviews and photos. Others can then look at those completed trip descriptions for ideas and even copy them whole leading to increased travel and easier schedule itineraries for people who like to have off the cuff holidays.Yahoo Trip Planner ties in with several other Yahoo! services, including social-networking site Yahoo 360, photo-sharing service Flickr and travel-shopping site FareChase.
