In a Country where comedy, as a genre is still underdeveloped, certain movies do make a mark. These movies speak for themselves and are known as cult classics. One such classic is “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron” directed by Kundan Shah. This movie is a perfect example of what we call a black comedy. Now-a-days, in most of the comedy flicks, it has become a trend to inject double-meaning dialogues accompanied with a shoddy characterization. The comic timing is totally gone. But “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron”, which released in 1983, exhibits a superb sense of comic timing and wit in each and every frame. This movie shows that there is a lot of potential that can be used to make people laugh. Kundan Shah has used humour brilliantly, as a tool to unmask the ugly face of the corruption.
