Sophisticated high tech meets ultra cool retro with the new vintage version of the iPod, complete with a 1940’s style valve amplifier. Taiwanese company A-Zone International has introduced the iPod Dock Valve Station, which comes with bulky vintage speakers which were used even before transistors were commonplace.

The new vintage iPod comes in a silver docking station with a wooden trim, matching amps and illuminated glass valves on top. It also features two 50W (per channel) speakers available in a wood, leather or glossy black finish. The product also comes with a remote control and has an S-Video out port that can connect to a TV, so people with a video iPod can watch movies on a big screen.

The iPod Dock Valve Station just went on sale in Germany for €699 (US$895) and is also available in Japan. It is expected to hit the France and UK markets soon.

Looks like retro is in vogue again, but not without a high tech twist.
