An abundance of mobile audio systems have been recently released into the market, including Apple's iPod Hi-Fi.

Apple's design team turned its sights to sound with a compact speaker box that claims to pack a truly vibrant punch. The design is a sealed injected plastic case which has a sturdy finish, easily carried with the help of two niched out handles. An internal power supply avoids the need for a clunky external power adapter.

At 17 inches wide and just under 7 inches deep, the Hi-Fi wont take up much space on a table. It promises to emit an almost exquisite sound. The configuration of the iPod Hi-Fi comprises of two 80mm wide-range speakers that take care of highs and mids and a centrally fitted 130mm woofer which takes care of the bass. The cabinet is a tuned boombox, designed for outputing high volume and SPL even at lower watt levels. Typical class D amplification has been used for highest efficency to power ratio.
What truly sets the Hi-Fi apart is its ability to operate on six D batteries, making it a fine mobile music entertainment system that can be carried along to a family picnic, party or a pool-side grill. This factor alone and the branding of apple logo will probably make it the choice for many.
