I get a feeling that indian tv , more particularly the hindi channels are more female oriented in the shows serials they broadcast.
Take the major tv channels & their primetime slots 8-9 pm & afternoon time. Its filled with the kussum, ksbkbt, kggk, kutumb, astitva, piya ka ghar, kkumkum, kasauti jindagi ki , etc etc

There are hardly any family oriented & male oriented programming in the prime time slots with the exception of Sony`s indian idol & to some extent jassi.

Star one channel hasnt really picked up that well imho.

What do u people think ?

After watching about 50 hours of Indian tv. I think you're right. I'm in the U.S. and our tv is similar I think women have more time on thier hands. There are a lot of things going on here to make a more global community and the internet is the leader.

Yea I agree, but television these days is slowly but surely moving into the Internet direction, allowing the audience to choose what they want to see and not just comply to whatever national channels have to offer. You can now download movies of your own choice and the choice is amaizingly diverse. Even national channels are moving to the Internet [/url] providing also links to the VOD Store  and a variety of packages to suit the demand of their customers....and btw statistics shows that mails prevail on the web...so maybe tv soaps are for femails and online thrillers are for men.
