Creative has just announced the release of the ZEN Aurvana In-Ear Earphones, more popularly known as canalphones, in Singapore this month. The Aurvanas boast of AuraSeal 90% noise isolation technology, which is actually just a fancy name for a feature quite common for canalphones: a rubber "canal" on top of each speaker.
From the pictures, the Aurvanas look very slick and glossy; and ironically seem to go better with the black iPods than the colorful Zen Xtras or the Neeons. The Aurvana comes with Oxygen-free copper cables, gold plated plugs, three pairs of earbuds in different sizes, a Y-junction slider to reduce noise when cable is brushed against clothing, and airplane adapter to use it in flight, a cleaning tool and a sleek travel case. The small, compact earphones weigh just 13g, supposedly the lightest in their class. It costs US$100 (Rs. 4,500), which does seem like a lot for just earphones...
