The recently released Bengali movie ‘Autograph’ starring Prosenjit Chatterjee will be screened at the 10th Annual Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council (MIAAC) Film Festival. The movie will be screened on 11th November at SVA Silas Theatre at 6 pm.
The film is directed by Srijit Mukherjee, who is quite experienced in the field of Bengali and English stage theaters. According to the director, he has attempted to pay a tribute to the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s movie Nayak starring Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore.
The movie has been produced by Mahendra Soni and Shrikant Mohta of Shree Venkatesh Films. Apart from Prosenjit, the movie also stars Nandana Sen and Indraneil Sengupta. The story revolves around three people, one of whom is a young aspirant director and wants to make a film called Nayak. The other two characters are that of a theater actress and a superstar. The film depicts how their life changes when they come together during the making of the movie.
The film also stars Rudra Prasad Sengupta and Piyush Ganguly in important roles. Bodhaditya Banerjee has done the editing of the film. Debojyoti Mishra and Anupam Roy have composed music for Autogrpah, which has lyrics by Srijato, Anupam Roy and Srijit Mukherjee. The director has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues of the movie.
