One of the popular actors of Bollywood, Arbaaz Khan is the younger brother of the highly popular actor, Salman Khan. Arbaaz himself is an actor, movie producer, and director. He debuted in the year 1996 and since then, has acted in a number of movies and in different roles. Apart from being a successful actor, Arbaaz has also hosted a number of television shows and has won some awards for his acting skills.
Arbaaz Khan Early Life
Arbaaz Khan was the second son after Salman Khan. His father Salim Khan is a successful screenwriter, while his mother is Sushila Charak. Arbaaz also has a stepmother, Helen, who was a popular actress and dancer in Hindi movies during her times. He attended Scindia School in Gwalior with his elder brother Salman where he completed his school education. The Khan Brothers also have a sister by the name of Alvira Khan and an adopted sister by the name of Arpita Khan. Atul Agnihotri is Arbaaz Khan’s brother-in-law.
Arbaaz Khan Acting Career
The debut movie for Arbaaz Khan was Daraar in the year 1996. He played the role of a psychotic wife-beater in the movie for which he also received the Filmfare Award in the Best Villain category. Unfortunately, Arbaaz could not attract the attention of the audiences with his solo movies. He has acted in quite a few multi-starrer movies such as Garv: Pride and Honour in the year 2004 and Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya in the year 1998. He had acted opposite his brother Salman Khan in both the movies.
In the year 2003 the movie Qayamat: City Under Threat released in which he played the role of a villain. The movie did quite well at the box office. When you talk about the movies in which he played supporting roles, there are quite a few. Three of the popular ones that were made by the famous director Priyadarshan were Hulchul in the year 2004, Malamaal Weekly in the year 2006, and Bhagam Bhag also in the year 2006.
Arbaaz Khan also played supporting roles as a mobster by the name of Moscow Chikna and a police Officer by the name of Constable Javed Shaikh in the movie Shootout at Lokhandwala and Fool and Final in the year 2007. He also made a cameo with his younger brother Sohail Khan in the movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, which was one of the most successful movies of the year. The movie featured Genelia D’Souza and Imran Khan.
Apart from Hindi movies, Arbaaz has also acted in a Telugu movie Jai Chiranjeeva, which also featured Chiranjeevi, a famous actor of South India. Khan’s role was that of the primary villain in the movie that was shot extensively in California, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. The year 2010 saw Arbaaz venture into film production. He started his own production company by the name of Arbaaz Khan Productions. As a producer, his first movie was Dabangg that released in the month of September, 2010. The movie was a super blockbuster at the box office and it also starred Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey and Arbaaz himself as Makhi. The movie went on to break several box office records and became the second highest grossing Hindi movie of all time. As a director, Arbaaz Khan’s first movie was Dabangg 2, which as a sequel to the original Dabangg.
Arbaaz Khan Personal Life
Arbaaz married Malaika Arora, who is a model and an actress, in the year 1998. The couple also have a son by the name of Arhaan, who was born in the year 2002. However, the couple announced their separation on the 28th of March, 2016. They ultimately got divorced on the 11th of May, 2017. Arbaaz is currently dating Georgia Andriani ever since 2018.
Arbaaz is one of those Bollywood actors who often finds himself surrounded by controversies of all types. On the 1st of July, 2012, an aged woman of around 70 years was accidentally killed by a Land Cruiser that was owned by Arbaaz. The victim’s family demanded compensation from the actor for their loss. However, Khan refused to pay the compensation stating that the old woman was disowned by her family.
In the year 2018, he also confessed to having placed several bets on IPL or Indian Premier League matches in the last 5 years. This was also officially stated by the police at that time. Thane Police informed that Khan, along with the accused bookie Sonu Jalan, were brought face-to-face during the interrogation. It was during this situation that Arbaaz confessed of his crime of betting in the matches.
