Washington, April 4: Chris Brown, who was serving in a Los Angeles prison, has been moved into federal custody, it has been revealed.
While confirming the news, a spokeswoman for the US Marshals told People Magazine that the 24 year-old singer, who was expelled from a Malibu rehab for violating rules, will be moved to Washington DC for pre-trial hearings in an assault case.
Mark Geragos, the 'Kiss Kiss' hit maker's lawyer, tried to block the transfer and even offered to transport Brown himself, but the requests were denied.
Brown, who was arrested on a felony assault charge in Oct er and was on probation, was taken to San Bernardino County jail.
Brown had also been convicted for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. (ANI)
