London, Feb. 3: A real life castaway, who was left adrift for 13 months, has said that he had gone for shark fishing with his pal off the coast of Mexico on Christmas Day in 2012.
Jose Ivan said that they were trying to sail to El Salvador, but when their engine failed they found themselves drifting off to the sea, the Daily Express reported.
His friend tragically died, but Jose said that he remained alive by eating raw fish and birds that he caught with his bare hands, and drinking passing turtles' blood.
He told a British website that he wants to go back to his country Mexico, but don't even know where he is currently.
Jose was found in emaciated condition on the tiny Ebon Atoll in the Marshall Islands, after having drifted more than 8,000 miles. (ANI)
