Washington, Jan 15: Russell Brand has revealed that he turned to drugs because he felt "lonely".
The British comedian - who has been sober since 2003 - admits that heroin was "beautiful" when he first tried it and took illegal substances because he "couldn't cope" with his life.
Russell, who was speaking at elite Cambridge University's union, said that when he took drugs he felt lonely, alienated and disconnected, Contactmusic reported.
He felt that this culture isn't serving him, and he couldn't cope with being alive, so he needed to take drugs.
However, the 38-year-old star insisted that staying away from drugs has been good for his whole family. (ANI)
