Washington, Jan. 14: Oct om, Nadya Suleman , has been charged with welfare fraud after allegedly failing to report nearly 30,000 dollars in earnings, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
The 38-year-old, who became media sensation in 2009 after making medical history by giving birth to octuplets, was charged with one count of aid by misrepresentation and two counts of perjury by false application for aid, Fox News reported.
The mother of 14 children allegedly failed to report the extra income she earned between Jan. 1, 2013 and June 30, 2013.
Suleman will be arraigned at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Friday and if convicted will face up to five years and eight months in jail.
According to reports, prosecutors will ask that her bail be set at 25,000 dollars. (ANI)
