New York, December 8: The 56th annual Grammy Awards nomination has seen Jay Z sweeping 9 nominations in total including the nomination for the 'Best Rap Album' and the 'Best Rap Song'.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Lorde, whose massive single 'Royals' topped the charts, has failed to garner a nomination for best new artist.

Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have been able to get 7 nominations each.
