Washington, Sep 13: A Canadian man has found what may be the world's oldest message in a bottle, while walking along Schooner's Cove in Tofino.
Steve Thurber, of Courtenay, British Columbia told GlobalNews.ca that though he did not want to open or break the bottle, he was able to make out through the glass that there was a note inside which was dated 1906, Fox News reported.
The current record for the oldest message in a bottle is one from 1914.
Thurber said that the note is signed by a man named Earl Willard, who was sailing from San Francisco to Bellingham on the Steamer Rainier when he threw the bottle into the ocean 76 hours into his trip. (ANI)
