Melbourne, Apr 3: The latest phenomenon in fitness Xtend Barre, has replaced the stereotype of aspiring Aussie actresses moving to Hollywood and waiting tables between auditions.
LA-based actresses and models Tahyna Tozzi, Teresa Palmer and Phoebe Tonkin have become "health partners in crime", attending the popular pilates-come-ballet workout studio in West Hollywood most days between filming or auditioning, with devotee Tozzi even becoming an instructor herself, News.com.au reported.
In fact, all instructors at the famed LA studio are Aussie ex-pats.
"The word is definitely spreading, I think because the results are so dramatic and it's so much fun," Tozzi told News Limited.
"It has been such a positive influence. Every time I finish a class I know I have done something wonderful for my body and every time I finish teaching a class I know I have done something wonderful for someone else's body - hat's a pretty great feeling," she said.
Tozzi has worked as a waitress, DJ, nightclub door-girl and barmaid since moving to New York when she was 19.
Now 26, she has found great "stability" knowing she has a career in fitness should Hollywood not work out - and it's something she is just as passionate about.
Other Australian LA-based actresses who have become hooked to the intense workout include Tabrett Bethell from 'Legend of the Seeker', Jessica McNamee from 'Packed to the Rafters' and 'Neighbours' sweethearts Bella Heathcote, Gemma Pranita and Margot Robbie. (ANI)
