Washington, Mar 21: Sheryl Crow is staging an intimate gig in her native Missouri, to raise funds for a friend, who is suffering from cancer.

The 51-year-old singer will take to the stage at the O'Reilly Family Event Centre in Springfield on April 4, to help Drew Lewis afford the treatment he needs to fight stage four colon cancer, Contactmusic reported.

The singer took to Twitter to urge her fans to donate to the cause as Lewis is unable to afford the costly medical bills.

"Hope to see you at the Springfield Mo show on 4/3 helping out my friend Drew in his battle w/ (with) colon cancer. It's going to be a great night!" she tweeted.

"If you can't make it to the show, here's a link to donate towards Drew's hospital bills. Every little bit helps!" she posted on her account. (ANI)
