London, Mar 11: A French male rock climber, who has been nicknamed 'Spider-man' for his affinity to climb world's tallest and most iconic landmarks, has set his sights on London's Shard - the highest building in the European Union.
Alain Robert told Sky News that he was trying to get permission to scale the 1,016ft tower, which opened earlier this year.
Shard's owners were granted an injunction by High Court last December, to stop him going up amid health and safety fears.
Robert, who suffers from vertigo, has previously scaled landmarks like Eiffel Tower and New York's Empire State Building.
He visited the Shard last year to assess its potential for a future ascent but was recognised by security personnel, and reportedly told them that he would not be climbing the building at that time. (ANI)
