Washington, Mar 1: Anderson Cooper has jumped to the defence of Anne Hathaway, after she was criticised at the Academy Awards for her mode of acceptance speeches, her last-minute Academy Awards dress switch.
The 45-year-old journalist said that he had no idea about the level of hatred people have towards Hathaway, who is a perfectly lovely.
He said that the 30-year-old actress is incredibly talented, and people have all these judgments about her which really upset him, Us magazine reported.
When a co-host said that her Oscar speech was "terrible," Cooper argued that Hathaway got up there, made eye contact and remembered people's names without reading it.
He continued about the star, who took the extra step of later explaining why she ditched her Valentino gown for a Prada creation on Oscar Sunday, saying that people have formed all these opinions based on nothing; they have no actual evidence.
He added that he felt as if he had just woken up and realized that the entire universe was attacking her, which made him defend her. (ANI)
