New York, Feb 13: The best way to attract members of the opposite sex is by speaking a foreign language, a new study has revealed.

Nearly 80 percent of respondents of a recent international survey of 5,000 men and women said that speaking another language would make them find a prospective partner more attractive, the New York Daily News reported.

Another 77 percent said that the trait would make them find a partner more intelligent.

The study, commissioned by online language learning firm Rocket Languages, showed that French, chosen by 41 percent of survey participants, was most likely to light their fire.

Italian, which was chosen by 16 percent, and Spanish, chosen by 15 percent, were the second and third sexiest lingos, according to the study.

English placed fourth, but to the disappointment of 'Gangnam Style' fans everywhere, Korean was found to be the least sexy language.

The study also found that speaking multiple languages may help not only in the bedroom, but in the boardroom as well.

When participants who spoke more than one language were asked where they were most likely to show off their linguistic prowess, 54 percent of them said on the job, while 20 percent answered "during intimate situations." (ANI)
