Melbourne, Feb 18(ANI): Hundreds of people stripped off for the world's first nude ocean swim at Cobblers Beach on Sunday.
More than 700 people left their swimwear and inhibitions on the sand to swim 900m in the inaugural Sydney Skinny, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Organiser Nigel Marsh asserted that the event was "joyous" and beyond his wildest dreams.
He added that there was an 89-year-old man, who was beaming from ear to ear, a man who had flown in from Kansas, and a woman who used it as a final line in the sand after years of suffering from an eating disorder.
The event was reportedly an initiative for people who normally would not get naked to step out of their comfort zone.
Marsh, who hoped the swim would become an iconic global event, said that he had many people thanking him for pushing them to try something they were nervous about because they felt so much better for it. (ANI)
