London, Feb. 1: Cheating is helping save marriages, the boss of a married dating website has claimed.
Founder and CEO of Married dating website Ashley Maddison.com, Noel Biderman made the controversial statement after new figures revealed that people from Britain were getting better at having affairs.
The stats from the Office of National Statistics, showed that while the number of divorces caused by infidelity halved over the last 30 years, the number of unhappily married couples joining married dating sites rocketed.
The site Ashley Maddison.com said that the rise of internet dating led to the plummet in affairs ending marriages as fewer people are being caught, the Sun reported.
Biderman said that he believed that the reduction of divorces over the past decade is partly due to the amount of successful affairs that are taking place.
He asserted that a perfect affair has two key ingredients - meeting someone and not getting caught.
He added that sites like their own had greatly increased the number of successful affairs and as a result the number of people who stayed within their marriage.
A recent survey by the site revealed that 88 percent of men and 91 percent of women, who have an affair claim to do so in order to save their marriages. (ANI)
