London, Jan 10: Tom Cruise reportedly wanted Tony Blair's help to make the Scientology cult a tax-deductible charity, according to a new book.
The book revealed that the 50-year-old actor had asked former US President Bill Clinton to use his friendship with former PM Blair to help the cult get a greater foothold in the UK, the Sun reported.
The 'Mission: Impossible' star was told that he would be better off contacting his wife Cherie who would "understand the details".
On the other hand, Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief said that nothing came of the talks.
In 1999, a request for charity status in England was rejected, as it had no "public benefit". (ANI)
