Hyderabad, Jan 14: Veteran actor Pankaj Kapur often goes unemployed for a long time as he prefers to bring some depth into his onscreen characters. The 58 years old actor is back after a hiatus of 3 years with Vishal Bharadwaj’s upcoming movie “Matru Bijlee Ka Mandola”. He says rarely he gets good roles and so he is so less seen onscreen. He says he is ready to do 4 films a year but then he has to get good roles like ‘Matru’. He goes through piles of scripts but only a few interests him. He has been learning to be more patient. He even went on to do serials when he failed to get good movie offers.

Pankaj Kapur was seen in tv shows like “Karamchand”, “Neem Ka Ped”, “Zaaban Sambhaal Ke”. He starred in some films which proved to be the landmarks in Bollywood like “Maqbool”, “Roja”, “Ek Doctor Ki Maut”, “Blue Umbrella”, “Dharm” to name a few.

Pankaj says though today many great films are made in Bollywood but he gets insecured as an actor as he might not get good roles often. He says he is selective when it comes to films. He rejects some as he feels as an actor he deserves better roles. He says he must be offered substantial roles.
