Melbourne, Jan 4: Summernats- a car festival held in Canberra, Australia - has broken the Guinness World Record for the most simultaneous burnouts.
Minutes after the attempt, Guinness World Records' Chris Sheedy told the 10,000 plus audience at the Australian capital's EPIC showground, that exactly 69 cars had completed the 30 second burnout that was required to claim the record, News.com.au reported.
The burnout enveloped the entire area with white and pink smoke, which was caused by the complete shredding of tyres.
After the event, firefighters had to put out one or two small rubber fires on the purposely built burnout pad.
Summernats co-owner Andy Lopez said that the attempt had taken months to organise and more than 200 staff had been involved in pulling the event together. (ANI)
