Hyderabad, Jan 14: Mukesh Khanna better known as ‘Shaktimaan’ is a part of the serial “Pyaar Ka Dard Hai…”. He plays the role of grandfather in it, and he is very popular with the audience too in this new avatar. Mukesh feels that this role of grandfather played by him is also iconic as the roles of ‘Shaktimaan’ and ‘Bhishma Pitamah’ played by him in the past.

His character in the new serial is called ‘Nanu’ and Mukesh shares an incident when he met a girl in airport who met him and said she watches his show everyday and wish she had a grandfather like him! The character is fast becoming popular and prominent just like ‘Bhishma Pitamah’ and later ‘Shaktimaan’ became. He says he always wanted to make some male-centric television soaps. In a past interview, he was quoted as saying that generally in daily soaps on television we see, one man versus 6 women but in his show it would be just the opposite.

The show “Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara” is aired on Star Plus channel. Lead roles are played by Nakul Mehta and Disha Parmar in it. Mukesh debuted in television industry with “Mahabharat” serial. He has also done a number of films.
