Hyderabad, Nov 5: Director Ramakrishna Macchakanti has confirmed about his upcoming film that it is not the remake of the 1991 film of the same title. The upcoming movie is a romantic film in Telugu titled "Pelli Pusthakam". He says he had to name his film as the 1991 film as the script demanded so, but that does not mean that this film is a remake of the old one.

Ramakrishna added that they have also taken permission to use the same title for this upcoming movie too. The lead roles in the film is played by Rahul Ravindran and Niti Taylor. The rest of the film's cast includes Srinivas, Anil, Nagineedu and Yashaswini. The film has been produced jointly by P. Suman, T. Nagireddy and also T.V. Gopal. Editing has been done by Martand K. Venkatesh and music has been composed by Sekhar Chandra.

Rahul Ravindran debuted in the year 2010 with the movie "Moscowin Kavery", then he went on to play the male leads in films like "Vinmeengal" and "Soorya Nagaram". He has done both Tamil and Telegu movies. He has also done an English movie "House of Abandoned Robots" which is awaiting release. In the film he plays the character of Siddharth.
