Chennai, Oct 1: Nikhil Advani who has directed the animated film "Delhi Safari" said he ventured into the world of animated movies as he always wanted to make a film for his daughter, so that she could watch that alongwith her friends. He feels happy to catch up the excited expression in the kid's face while watching the movie. Nikhil says his daughter loves watching the monkey Bajrangi and the parrot Alex in the film.
Nikhil says to make an animated character complete, real-life actors are very important. And it was all due to the voiceover by actor Govinda that the character of Bajrangi is complete now! Nikhil admitted that animated films are not yet largely explored by Indian film makers, however according to him, as it is possible for one today to release such films nationwide, then one should also start taking initiative to make animated movies.
Nikhil says in India, film makers need to adopt the right marketing strategies to make the animated films a success. Obviously unlike in the West, the audience in India who are interested to view animations are much less, but that should not discourage the makers. The 41 years old film maker, debuted as a director in 2003 with Karan Johar's "Kal Ho Naa Ho". However the other films which he made, did not stand successful as per box office collections and critics ratings.
