Chennai, Sep 22: This is nothing new that Rohit Shetty, the film maker who remade Surya's “Singham" in Hindi is working at present with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone for the forthcoming venture, “Chennai Express". And surprisingly we heard that the role of Dippy's father in the movie will be played by the veteran Tamil actor Sathyaraj. He will be a don in the film.
Now this talented actor is following the trail of actor Prakash Raj and doing films in Bollywood. The film is all about the journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram, and what happens during the journey. SRK wont be essaying the role of a South-Indian in the movie. However many parts of the film will be shot in and around Chennai.
Shetty in an interview to a newspaper reporter told that as the film is about the journey from Maharashtra to Tamil Nadu, he wants a larger part of the ensemble cast to be from Kollywood. He wants actors to look genuinely like South Indians, and they should be speaking the language in proper accent. Sathyaraj is a versatile actor and also a social activist. He was last seen in the film “Nanban". Besides acting, Sathyaraj also produced and directed a few films.
