Mumbai, Sep 7: Kareena Kapoor is turning 'Heroine' in her upcoming project under Madhur Bhandarkar's direction. The film attracted immense attention right from its start as film makers first signed Aishwarya Rai before deciding on Kareena when Aish chose to walk out of the project citing pregnancy reasons. According to latest information, Madhur is making the film on some real life incidents, and in one such scene Kareena will be enacting Preity Zinta's 'Burkha' act of her real life.
Insiders reveal that the filmmaker took actress Preity Zinta's real life incident into his film. Preity was known to wear Burkha while visiting movie theatres in order to stay away from limelight and Kareena will be enacting the same on screens. Close aides say that Madhur was really inspired by this act of Preity Zinta and thus decided to do the same in the movie. Interestingly, Preity Zinta and Kareena Kapoor were arch rivals at one time. But last year they both decided to bury the hatchet and start afresh.
Madhur Bhandarkar has already declared that his film is not particularly based on any actress but he generalized how a successful actress saw downfall and gets into the dark.In the movie "Heroine", Kareena essays the role of Mahie Khanna, one of the most powerful female characters (according to Madhur Bhandarkar) ever written in Bollywood. It is all set to release on September 21, 2012. Apart from Kareena and Arjun Rampal, the film also stars Randeep Hooda.
