Goa, Aug 3: Tarun Mansukhani started his career as an assistant of film maker Karan Johar. He is a Dharma Productions loyalist and started assisting Karan Johar since 1998 from “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" days. But the latest is that Tarun’s mentor KJo has shown him the door very recently. Tarun is popular for directing the blockbuster “Dostana" in 2008 which starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra. An insider from the production house has revealed the news. For a few years the sequel of “Dostana" is on the back burner.

Nothing has taken shape yet. And with the reworking of the scripts several times Tarun got restless and approached other producers. KJo soon found it and asked Tarun to leave the production house immediately. This sudden moves has put a big question mark on the sequel of “Dostana 2". And the source reveals that the he does not have any idea of the project, its upto Karan Johar whether he will find a new director for “Dostana 2" or shelve the sequel.

Also another source tells Tarun was unhappy with Karan as he was promoting younger directors while Tarun had to wait so long to get his film produced. And inspite of successfully debuting as a director with “Dostana" Tarun has been waiting for 4 long years to get his film made.
