Mumbai, Mar 27: Best known for his comic characters in films like 'Masti', 'Dhamaal', 'Malamaal Weekly','Hey Baby', 'Housefull’ , Riteish Deshmukh feels that comedy lives on the silver screen primarily due to the script writers and directors and the actors only play the roles of puppets in the show. If the punches are not good enough, even the best actors can’t make their audience laugh.
Riteish gives a twenty to the actors while an eighty to the script writers and directors in the success of any comedy film. The punches are no doubt delivered to the audience by the actors but writers are the sole sources of those punches and without them there wouldn’t have been any ‘comedy’ in comedy films.
The recently married started his career in Bollywood with the romantic film ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’ which didn’t do well in box office followed by ‘Out of Control’ which had almost the same fate. Although he made a return with ‘Masti’ followed by ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum’ exposing himself as an upcoming comic actor. He also gives utmost credit to Sajid Nadiadwala (producer), Sajid Khan(director-writer) and Sajid Farhad (writer) for his next project ‘Housefull 2’starring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan, Shazahn Padamsee, Mithun Chakraborty, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Boman Irani.
