Los Angeles, Feb 13: Folk band Bon Iver, founded by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, bagged the best new artist trophy at the 54th Grammy awards here.

So far Vernon has released two albums -- "For Emma, Forever Ago" in 2008, and "Bon Iver, Bon Iver" last year.

The band was chosen for the award over The Band Perry, J. Cole, Nicki Minaj and Skrillex.
