Washington, Aug 29: 'Flatliners', that featured Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland in its first instalment, is all set for a remake.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Columbia Pictures executives have commissioned 'Source Code' screenwriter Ben Ripley to bring the 1990 medical thriller back to life, reports Contactmusic.

The original story centered on a group of medical students experimenting with death, as they investigated myths about the afterlife.

Kevin Bacon also starred in the film that was directed by Joel Schumacher. (ANI)
