London, May 08 - 'Telephone' hitmaker Lady Gaga's old friends have revealed her school nickname.

Apparently her friends used to call her the Little Mermaid - after the Disney character in school, reports the Mirror.

They recall, "Even when it wasn't appropriate, when times weren't right, she'd just burst out singing."

TV show Real Stories: Lady GaGa, also revealed some details on how she started her career.

A friend says GaGa "called up her local nightclub and told them about a girl who was really good and they should book her". (ANI)
