London, March 7 - 'Avatar' director James Cameron wants his former wife Kathryn Bigelow to beat to him to the Oscar for Best Director, saying it'll be cool to lose to her.

The director, who was married to Bigelow for two years, is up for the Academy Award against top rivals including Bigelow for her Iraq-set war movie The Hurt Locker.

"It'd be really cool to lose to her. So far she hasn't had the accolades she deserves," the Mirror quoted him as saying.

He added: "I know the one she wants - though not as 'woman director'. She wants to be simply Best Director. And I hope she gets it. She's ready to be anointed." (ANI)
