Melbourne, February 23 - Jessica Simpson's father reportedly gave John Mayer a piece of his mind and fury after the singer tagged his daughter "sexual napalm" in a recent interview.

Joe Simpson was said to have blasted Mayer, who dated Jessica for nine months until May 2007, warning him never to utter a word about the beauty again.

"Joe took it upon himself to call John up directly for a 'man to man' discussion. Joe didn't tell Jessica ahead of time because he knew she'd object," the Daily Telegraph quoted a source as telling OK! magazine.

"The conversation was pretty one-sided. Joe told John that he best not even think of uttering Jessica's name again.

"John put up a feeble defence - he tried to reason with Joe that he was praising Jessica, not insulting her. But no father wants to hear from an ex-boyfriend about how hot his daughter is in bed - and Joe told John as much.

"Joe told John to stay away from his family and man-up and apologise for his comments," the source added. (ANI)
