Mumbai, Feb 5 - The equestrian world joined hands with high fashion in Mumbai for the McDowell Signature Indian Derby Fashion Show on Thursday.

Models sashayed down the ramp in jewel coloured dresses side by side with jockeys wearing dapper equestrian inspired wear.

The pairing may seem like an odd match as the models towered over the jockeys, but Sonia Vajifdar, who designed the clothes for the evening, gushed over the show.

"I loved it. It was really a challenge first of all, because I'd never seen the races before last week. But it was really fun and everyone was really co-operative. Everything was put together because everyone had patience to come for their fittings even though they were riding," said Vajifdar.

The fashion show is part of the McDowell Signature Indian Derby.

The two-day-long races kick off on Saturday at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai and are likely to attract riders from across the world. (ANI)
