Ruslan ReviewMovie Review: Ruslaan; Star cast: Raajveer, Meghaa Chatterjee, Asrani, Shahbaaz Khan, Ganesh Yadav, S.M. Zaheer and Smita Jaykar; Director: Mohan C. Sharma; Rating: * - Nothing new!

There has come a sea change in the face of cinema. Filmmakers are experimenting with different genres today but they are still some who keep digging the old concepts, which are no longer contemporary.

Ruslaan is a creation of one such filmmaker Mohan C. Sharma who has nothing new to offer. Ruslaan’s (Raajveer) life is just perfect. He has a family of parents and sister who love him and he is in love Samaira (Meghaa Chatterjee). Soon his life turns upside down when he becomes the victim of suspicion in a Mumbai train blast in the act of terror. However, the film lacks impact. The poorly-crafted script makes Ruslaan a disaster.

The intense issue has not been taken seriously. The screenplay and direction does not deal with the issue with sensitivity. Everything goes haywire in the film. Music is the saving grace in the film; especially the Maula Maula song is simply fantastic.

Both Raajveer and Meghaa have given an amateurish performance. Asrani, Shahbaaz Khan and Ganesh Yadav are good. S.M. Zaheer and Smita Jaykar are strictly okay.

On the whole, Ruslaan has nothing in it to woo the audience to theatres.
