The Max Stardust Awards Nite saw all the big stars ascend down at the MMRDA grounds in BKC Mumbai. The entire action from the gala evening is now being brought for us all on Max on Saturday February 28th at 8pm.

The awards nite kick-started with first timer host Tusshar Kapoor’s candid admission that no celebrity present would be poked fun of during the entire evening, perhaps taking a cue from the recent controversy that erupted between an acclaimed filmmaker and a talk show host at an awards evening. He was later joined in by Minissha Lamba as the co-host.

An overwhelmed Dev Anand on receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award revealed the secret behind what keeps him ticking even at an 80 plus age and still making films. The other recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Feroz Khan could not make it as he was unwell. But his son, Fardeen Khan received the award on his behalf from the hands of Jaya Bachchan and read out a note written by his dad as the Thank You speech. Akshay Kumar was his witty self when he came on the stage to collect the Best Film trophy for Singh Is Kinng. Akki who is also the co-producer of the film, joked that he won’t dare this time to annoy his wife Twinkle and hand over this trophy to anyone else. He was also seen bonding big time with the Big B sitting next to him throughout the evening. Lovebirds Saif and Kareena made a late entry and remained completely focused on each other. Kangana Ranaut was announced the Best Supporting Actress Category winner by boyfriend Adhyayan Suman. Prateik Babbbar on receiving his award in the Breakthrough Performance category was almost in loss of words while giving his acceptance speech.

The star performers for the evening included Neetu Chandra, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and the inimitable Salman Khan. Neetu Chandra who was the first performer left everyone wowed with her moves, Amisha Patel with her Lazy Lamhe left everyone wanting for more. While everyone lauded Anil’s enthusiastic dance performance, Priyanka’s jig to her hit numbers right from Drona to Fashion to Dostana created just the right mood. When Salman Khan’s name was announced as the next performer a huge euphoria erupted amongst the audiences and cheers just didn’t stop right till Salman finished dancing to his first number of the evening. While he began dancing to slow numbers from Yuvvraaj he gradually upped the tempo to fast numbers and ended with BANG with his BANG BANG BANG number from Hello. -Sampurn Media
