RAAZ - TMCRAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES has released over the weekend gone by and done good for itself at the box office. Showing consistent collections on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the film has held on reasonably well on the weekdays as well, hence ensuring yet another success for the Bhatts after JAANAT. Meanwhile, Mohit Suri is relieved that his labor of love has finally paid off, especially so because he was much heartbroken after the box office failure of AWARAPAN.

"There was a sword hanging on my head post AWARAPAN. I had to do something special that would leave the disappointment of AWARAPAN far-far behind. It was a challenge to make RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES because a) the brand name of RAAZ was being taken forward, b) the music had to at least match up if not become bigger and better than it's predecessor and c) I had to get back that chunk of audience that hadn't come forward to watch AWARAPAN", says an emotionally choked Mohit who started off his career as a director with two back to back successful films ZEHER and KALYUG\ but had a minor setback with WOH LAMHE that just about managed to cover it's costs.

He adds, "It was a lot of pressure and I gave close to one and a half years of my life into getting RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES to the position where it finds itself today",

Talking about the pains he had to go through to ensure chartbuster music of RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES, he says, "It was not just RAAZ but also the popular music of each of my own films that had to be matched. Fortunately, whether it is ZEHER, KALYUG, WOH LAMHE or AWARAPAN, the music has always been appreciated. So I had to beat that as well", he smiles.

He made a conscious effort though that the horror genre of the film didn't put off a good section of audience. Hence rather than making it overtly dark, he had bright lights for most of the sequences in the film.

He reveals, "One thing that I was sure of before beginning work on RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES was that I didn't want to fall under stereotypical trappings. I didn’t want my horror movie to look dark and gloomy. That's what I said to my DOP who came up with this new technique for night shots where the actual shooting happened in the day time. We looked at breaking patterns that people have seen in the horror movies of the past." -Joginder Tuteja / Sampurn Media
