Following a request from its member, Dr. Muhammed Farooq Khan of Pisho Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPAA) has decided to set up a separate committee for animation films.
Khan had earlier written to IMPPA, explaining that as 75% of producers making animation films in India were first-timers, they barely had any clue about the workings of the film industry and were not aware of laws and procedures to protect their interests. There are as many as 50 animation films at various stages of production in India today. The IMPPA animation cell will comprise experts in the field and will provide guidance and help to the producers. -(SAMPURN)
