Ajay Devgan nearly escaped death while shooting an action scene for his forthcoming venture Toonpur Ka Superhero near an island in Thailand. The action director Jack Gill had planned out a stunt in which the jet-ski chase was suppose to be shot from a chopper. However, bad weather did not support the scene and the chopper they were shooting nearly lost control. Fortunately, Ajay escaped unscathed despite the helicopter blades whizzing inches from him.

Ajay, who featured in several action movies including his debut vehicle Phool Aur Kaante and Raju Chacha, says this incident will be etched in his mind for a long time. The actor has mentioned the incident on his blog "Incidences happen and sometimes even a planned out scenario can go awfully wrong. I'll come straight to the point as today I feel that I should make a note of this particular incident in my diary."

He goes on to add "we were shooting off the Phi Phi Island in Thailand and Jack Gill had planned out a stunt wherein the jet-ski chase was suppose to be shot from an aerial view. There was a chopper, which was mounted with cameras, and initially as we started taking and moving around in the shallow waters the waves were moderate and so we decided to move ahead in the deeper waters since the scene required a proper aerial view which should look like a chase from a top angle. "

He further says, "We were shooting with four other stuntmen. They were moving aggressively in the sea trying to give their best shots by maneuvering with their cuts around me. The chopper was also hovering right above us and as close as possible to us to get better shots. Suddenly the weather started to change when we started shooting at another smaller rocky island called Maya Bay.  The wind and the waves were trying to show us their stunts and our men instantly thought of retreat.

"A sudden gust of strong wind hit me and next moment the chopper above us lost control and blades were so  angerously close to us that we  could feel the strong whipping winds of our helicopter,"  he describes. (SAMPURN)
