Karan Kapoor: Kumar Sahil of Ludhiana is being touted as the next heartthrob of Bollywood.

Inspired by the veteran actor Dharmendra, who also hails from Punjab, Sahil is brimming with confidence to win millions of hearts.

Since childhood, Sahil was fascinated towards dancing and other acting related extra-curricular activities in school. Once done with his studies, he requested his father to allow him going to Mumbai and join a film academy, as many Bollywood producers pick fresh talent from there.

Kumar says: "Once musician-turned-producer Shravan visited our institute and noticed me. He asked my Institute's director about my acting ability and from where I come from. He called my father in Punjab and told him about his keenness to cast me in his latest film "Kaash ...Mere Hote"."

He adds: "He offer me a role of a photographer in the film. The movie also stared Sneha Ullal, Rajesh Khanna, Johny Lever, Hemant Birje and Sanna Mirza. That was how I made my debut in the film industry."

"As an actor from Punjab, I am the only one after superstar Dharmendra. I met him in Mumbai and received his blessings. He was feeling very proud that there was someone from Punjab who has come to Bollywood. Working in Mumbai was a great experience."

About the secret of starting a career in films, Kumar Sahil said: "It's more of a luck. But if one is talented, everyone recognizes it. Even famous Directors like Yash Raj or Mahesh Bhatt will recognize you. And if you perform well, they will go for you. Besides, luck, one also requires talent, money and good relations."

Kumar Sahil is a big fan of Dharmendra's son and action hero Sunny Deol. He says: "My ideal in films is action man Sunny Deol. I also want to do action film in the future."
