Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was swamped with hundreds of calls and text messages after a fan distributed her mobile number to numerous people via email.

The 32-year-old, who is currently in Britain to perform her musical Miss Bollywood, is said to be "extremely perturbed."

The celebrity Big Brother winner has also reported the nuisance to police in India.

"Some want to date her, some want to listen to her voice," The Sun quoted her publicist, as saying.

If found, the errant fan could face a jail term of up to six months.
