Director Anurag Basu's "Metro", a realistic take on life and the problems plaguing the people living in big cities, has a big surprise for music lovers.

"'Metro' has a big surprise in terms of music. The songs are very fresh, new and stylised. It has a new kind of music and we are working doubly hard on it. I think the singers and the styling will take everyone by surprise. That's all I can disclose at this point," said Basu.

The groovy, soul-stirring music of Basu's earlier flicks like "Murder" and "Gangster" had struck the right chord with audiences, reports Bollywood Trade.

But Basu insists he's not a typical commercial filmmaker.

"The film is not completely commercial. I don't make outright masala films and neither do I go for typical art films. I prefer to choose the middle path," he said.

Apart from this, he is directing Mahesh Bhatt's "Suicide Bomber" and an untitled film for Subhash Ghai.
