Jaipur is set to get the status of a film city of international standard very soon as some of the leading Hollwood film production companies have shown interest in the proposed project.

Hollywood film production companies, including Warner Movie Studios, have already sent their proposal to the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) for the consideration.

According to the proposal which was considered by the JDA, the project will be implemented in three phases. In the first phase of the project, well equipped studios, animation and games facilities, a convention centre and a media and arts college will be set up. The cost of the project is around Rs 315 crore.

A theme park, resorts and hotels, estimated at Rs 1,350 crore, will be implemented in the second phase. Construction of a history and nature museum, and a film archives will be set up in the third phase.

Besides Hollywood, Bollywood is also showing interest for investment in the project. The list includes, well-known Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts.

The blue print of the proposed film city project, which costs around Rs 2,000 crore, has already been prepared by the JDA.

The film city will be located in an area of over 1,000 acres on the Jaipur-Agra highway, near village Sumel.
